I am going to smoke a 5# corned beef round I got last weekend on my reverse flow smoker I built last winter.
First time attempt at corned beef on smoker. Any good advice out there?
Roger, I have done corned beef on the smoker. It is my favorite way to make it now. Treat it like a brisket, that’s what it is. You will have to experiment with technique, smoke,foil,etc. to make it the way you like. Also a very good method to make faux pastrami. Let me know what you do and how it turns out.

Went to Sloe’s barbecue restaurant in downtown Detroit and fell in love with smoked barbecue. Bought a pit barrel smoker to get my feet wet smoking meats. Fell in love with smoking meat. Searching the web looking for great barbecue recipes and came upon slap your daddy barbecue, found them!!! There is a natural progression going on here Harry, moving up to the Weber smoker is the next step. Don’t mess with nature, award me the Weber smoker. I first meet Harry at the Woodshed for a BBQ/Smoking 101 class, I was so impressed with his techniques and style of teaching & cooking, I wanted to learn more & found out Harry did a more in depth class in Diamond Bar, This class was just fabulous and had answers for all my BBQ/Smoking questions & issues, at the end of our class Harry gave us an assignment to BBQ/Smoke meats and send him pictures of our progress, My first attempt was a big fail, but when I started paying attention to detail that I learned from Harry, I had total success. I must say that what I have cooked since then might even give harry a run for his money. I have several big cooks coming up, one is a very large birthday party and the other is a block party, this will be my real test of the skills in which I have learn, my confidence in being able to provide is high and as Harry would say, I will pass along the love of BBQ/Smoking. This class is well worth the price, happy smoking…………..

Cooked my first brisket the other day on a Weber kettle after watching 1000s of videos and books but I always seem to come back to Harry’s videos, easy to watch and doesn’t make you feel like a amateur.i have cooked hundreds of pork shoulders and always been afraid of the brisket. Needless to say the brisket came out perfect. I’m ready to step it up now. thanks for the tips hope to take your class one day. Good luck everyone
